Objective:
To create and upload brands and model numbers into the RPS system for custom store brands or to add new model numbers not currently in the system.
Key Steps:
Creating Brands and Model Numbers Individually:
Access RPS system and click on "Plus Appliances" button.
Click on the plus sign to add a new manufacturer/brand.
Fill in the brand details and save.
Fill out model number details (base model number, MSRP, stockable, taxable, etc.).
Add short and long descriptions, UPC numbers, pricing, images, and any additional information.
Click on save to add the model number to the system.
Uploading Model Numbers via Spreadsheet:
Prepare a spreadsheet with columns for manufacturer, model number, base model, short description, long description, etc.
Ensure the manufacturer's name is already set up in the system.
Access RPS system and click on "Import Data" option.
Choose to upload product and pricing.
Select the product category and manufacturer.
Upload the file with the model numbers.
Match the columns in the spreadsheet with the system's columns.
Click upload to add the model numbers from the spreadsheet into the system.
Cautionary Notes:
Ensure all required information is accurately filled out for each brand and model number.
Double-check the matching of columns when uploading model numbers via a spreadsheet to avoid errors.
Tips for Efficiency:
For immediate model number additions, use the "Plus Appliances" option.
For bulk model number uploads with no urgency, utilize the spreadsheet option and allow the system to update overnight.
