The Locations tab in POS Settings and Inventory Settings now includes a filter to display only active locations and hide deactivated ones. This makes it easier to find and manage active locations, reduces on-screen clutter, and helps you work more efficiently.
Viewing Active and Deactivated Locations in POS and Inventory Settings
Objective
This SOP explains how to view locations in Point of Sale and Inventory settings so team members can quickly find active locations and access deactivated locations when needed. It helps reduce clutter and makes location management easier in multi-location environments.
Key Steps
1. Open the Locations view in the appropriate settings area 0:00
Navigate to either Point of Sale settings or Inventory settings.
Open the Locations section.
Review the list of locations displayed on the screen.
2. Review only active locations by default 0:00
Confirm that the default view now shows active locations only.
Use this view to work faster when managing current store or warehouse locations.
This reduces unnecessary scrolling through inactive records.
3. Access deactivated locations when needed 0:00
If you need to find a location that is no longer active, look for the Deactivated status.
Switch to or filter by Deactivated to view those locations.
Use this view for reference, auditing, or reactivation-related tasks.
4. Use the simplified view to manage locations more efficiently 0:13
Take advantage of the cleaner list to focus only on locations that are currently in use.
Use the separation between active and deactivated locations to reduce confusion.
This is especially helpful when working with multiple locations.
Cautionary Notes
Deactivated locations will not appear in the default active list. If you cannot find a location, check the Deactivated status.
Be careful not to assume a location was deleted; it may simply be deactivated.
When managing multiple locations, verify you are viewing the correct status before making changes.
Tips for Efficiency
Start with the active locations view to save time and reduce visual clutter.
Use the Deactivated status only when you need to review inactive records.
If you manage many locations, make it a habit to confirm the status filter before searching.
