This video highlights a new enhancement in Scheduler settings that allows delivery managers to configure and enforce a maximum number of days into the future for delivery scheduling. It demonstrates how a defined scheduling limit is automatically applied during the scheduling process, preventing users from creating appointments outside of supported timeframes and helping ensure more accurate and consistent delivery planning.
How to Configure Max Days Out for Truck Delivery Scheduling
Objective
This SOP explains how to set the maximum number of days out that a truck delivery can be scheduled in the Scheduler settings. It also describes how this setting affects delivery scheduling so team members can prevent bookings outside the approved timeframe.
Key Steps
Open the Truck scheduling settings 0:08
Navigate to Scheduler.
Open Settings.
Select the Truck tab.
Locate the Max Days Out field, which controls how far in advance a truck delivery can be scheduled.
2. Enter the maximum number of days allowed 0:20
In the Max Days Out field, enter the number of days ahead that scheduling should be allowed.
Example: entering 2 means users can only schedule deliveries up to 2 days from today.
Any date beyond that limit will be unavailable for selection.
3. Save the setting before leaving the screen 0:29
After entering the desired value, click Save Settings.
Do this before exiting the screen to ensure the new limit is applied.
Confirm the setting is saved successfully before moving on.
4. Verify the setting in an order delivery workflow 0:37
Open an order delivery scheduling screen to confirm the setting is working.
Attempt to schedule a delivery beyond the configured limit.
Verify that only the allowed dates are selectable and all later dates are blocked.
5. Confirm the scheduling restriction is enforced 0:47
Check that the calendar only allows dates within the configured range.
If the limit is set correctly, users should not be able to schedule outside the allowed timeframe.
Use this restriction to keep delivery scheduling aligned with operational requirements.
Cautionary Notes
Always click Save Settings after changing Max Days Out; otherwise, the update may not take effect.
Make sure the value entered matches your business rules, since it directly controls which delivery dates users can select.
If users report blocked dates unexpectedly, verify the Max Days Out value in Scheduler > Settings > Truck.
Tips for Efficiency
Decide the approved scheduling window before updating the setting to avoid unnecessary changes.
Test the setting immediately after saving to confirm the restriction behaves as expected.
Use a small Max Days Out value when you want tighter control over delivery scheduling and fewer out-of-window bookings.
