The following video discusses syncing price rules in RPS. We explore the purpose of the sync price rule function and syncing price rules.
How to Use Sync Rules for Digital Price Tags & E-Commerce Price Tags
Overview
The Sync Rules feature allows you to copy pricing rules and manual prices between Digital Price Tags and E-Commerce Price Tags.
This eliminates the need to maintain pricing in two separate locations. Instead, you can manage pricing in one area and synchronize it to the other with a single click.
What Are Sync Rules?
Previously, pricing changes could automatically apply across multiple areas of RPS. Later, pricing was separated so retailers could maintain different prices for:
Digital Price Tags
E-Commerce Price Tags
While this gave retailers greater flexibility, many requested an easier way to duplicate pricing rules without having to recreate them manually.
The Sync Rules feature solves this by allowing you to synchronize pricing information between the two modules whenever needed.
Before You Begin
Ensure your pricing rules and manual prices are configured in the area you want to use as the source.
The destination product must already exist in the other module.
Sync Rules will not create missing products.
It only copies pricing information for products that exist in both locations.
How to Sync Pricing Rules
Step 1: Open Your Pricing Module
Navigate to either:
Digital Price Tags, or
E-Commerce Price Tags
You can begin the sync process from either location.
Step 2: Select Your Products
Select the products whose pricing rules you want to synchronize.
The Sync Rules process works with the products currently selected or displayed in your grid.
Step 3: Click Sync Rules
Select the Sync Rules button.
The system will:
Review the selected products.
Compare them with products in the opposite pricing module.
Determine which products are eligible for synchronization.
Step 4: Review the Sync Results
The system displays how many products can be synchronized.
For example:
3 products selected
1 product available to sync
This means:
One product exists in both modules and will receive the pricing update.
The remaining products do not exist in the destination module and will be skipped.
Important: Sync Rules does not create products in the other module. It only synchronizes pricing for products that already exist.
Step 5: Allow the Sync to Complete
After confirming the sync:
The synchronization process begins.
A confirmation notification appears once the process is complete.
Example:
Successfully synchronized price tags.
Verify the Results
Open the same product in the destination module.
You should see that the following have been copied:
Pricing Rules
Manual Prices
Sale Price Rules
MSRP Rules
Competitive Pricing Rules
Any additional pricing formulas configured for that product
The pricing configuration should now match the source module.
Example Workflow
Configure pricing rules in Digital Price Tags.
Click Sync Rules.
The system copies eligible pricing rules to E-Commerce Price Tags.
Open the product in E-Commerce.
Verify the pricing rules now match.
The same workflow also works in reverse—pricing created in E-Commerce Price Tags can be synchronized back to Digital Price Tags.
