Improved Implementation of the Lock Schedule Option

Locking the delivery date now locks down everything. Reassigning truck and delivery dates are locked. The days the truck is available are also restricted. Within the order itself, you’ll see lock icons on the Delivery/Pickup column. Any attempt to change the delivery date, quantity or delivery type are restricted.

Locking also works on the service scheduler. Locking all fields that have to do with the technician. Same for the actual service request.

Standard Operating Procedure for Locking Delivery and Service Dates

Objective

This SOP outlines the steps to lock delivery and service dates to prevent changes that could affect scheduled appointments.

Key Steps

Step 1: Access the Date Lock Feature 0:00

  • Navigate to the delivery or service date you wish to lock.

  • Understand that locking a date prevents changes such as:

    • Reassigning trucks

    • Changing the delivery date

    • Modifying quantities

    • Adjusting delivery type

    • Changing technician schedules.

Step 2: Lock the Delivery Date 0:27

  • Click the lock icon next to the calendar icon for the selected date.

  • Choose the truck(s) you want to lock for this delivery.

Step 3: Confirm Truck Lock 0:37

  • Select the specific truck (e.g., truck number two) and click 'apply'.

  • Verify that the truck is now locked and cannot be reassigned.

Step 4: Verify Lock Functionality 0:49

  • Check that:

    • The truck cannot be reassigned.

    • The delivery date cannot be changed.

    • The quantities cannot be modified.

    • The calendar is locked for rescheduling.

Step 5: Locking the Order 1:12

  • Click on the order associated with the locked delivery.

  • Attempt to change the delivery type to confirm that the truck is locked.

Step 6: Unlocking the Truck 1:30

  • If you need to change the delivery type, go back to the lock settings.

  • Uncheck the truck to unlock it.

Step 7: Locking Service Requests 1:43

  • For service requests, go to the top of the Service Scheduler screen.

  • Click the lock icon and select the technician for the service call.

Step 8: Confirm Service Lock 2:00

  • Verify that all fields related to the service request are now locked, similar to the delivery scheduler.

Cautionary Notes

  • Ensure that all necessary changes are made before locking the date, as locked dates cannot be modified without unlocking.

  • Communicate with team members about locked dates to avoid confusion.

Tips for Efficiency

  • Regularly review scheduled deliveries and services to lock dates promptly after finalization.

  • Use a checklist to ensure all necessary trucks and technicians are selected before locking.
