Apply Default Pricing Rules

In this video, you'll see how centralized pricing rules can automatically determine sales and regular prices, reduce manual maintenance, and help ensure pricing remains consistent across your organization. You'll also learn how built-in pricing anomaly thresholds and manufacturer-specific overrides provide greater visibility and control over your pricing strategy.

Default Price Rules Configuration

Overview

This feature adds automatic default pricing for POS items added to quotes and orders. It lets you base sales and regular prices on configurable price rules, with optional manufacturer-specific overrides and anomaly thresholds for review.

What Default Price Rules Do 0:01

  • Automatically determine both Sales Price and Regular Price when an item is added to a quote or order.

  • Use pricing rules instead of manually maintained price tags.

  • Reduce ongoing maintenance while keeping pricing behavior flexible and consistent.

Enable Default Price Rules in POS Settings 0:20

  • Go to Point of Sale → Settings → Pricing.

  • Use Base Pricing On to choose the pricing source.

  • Available options include:

    • Price tags

    • Price sheets

    • Price levels

    • Default Price Rules

  • When selected, POS pricing is calculated from the default price rules configured in the Price Tags section.

Create Pricing Rules 0:33

  • Open Bulk Pricing Change.

  • Click Create, then Use Pricing.

  • Use Build with AI to generate a rule from a plain-language prompt.

  • Example: enter something like "lowest competitor" and press Enter.

  • The generated rule becomes available for selection in Default Price Rules.

Manage Default Price Rules 1:31

  • Click Manage Default Price Rules to configure pricing behavior.

  • Select separate rules for:

    • Regular Price Rule

    • Sales Price Rule

  • These selections control how POS prices are calculated when items are added.

Sales Price Threshold and Anomaly Detection 1:48

  • Price levels define an expected sales price.

  • Set a Sales Price Threshold to flag unusually low prices.

  • Example: a threshold of 23% flags any sales price more than 23% below the expected price.

  • The threshold does not change the calculated price; it only determines whether the result is highlighted for review.

Manufacturer Overrides 2:26

  • Use Manufacturer Overrides when a manufacturer should ignore the default rules.

  • Click Add Manufacturer Rule.

  • Select:

    • Manufacturer

    • Regular Price Rule

    • Sales Price Rule

  • Click Update, then Save to persist the configuration.

Fallback Behavior and Pricing Cascade 2:56

  • If no default rule is configured, both Sales Price and Regular Price default to 0.

  • A warning is shown to help prevent unintended pricing.

  • The cascading pricing logic ensures the most appropriate rule is applied, including manufacturer-specific exceptions when present.
