Sales managers can now create price rules using natural language powered by AI, making rule setup faster and more intuitive. Simply describe the pricing logic in plain language and the system will generate the corresponding rule, reducing complexity, minimizing manual configuration errors, and making price rule management significantly easier to maintain and update.
SOP: Create and Edit AI-Powered Price Rules
Objective
This SOP explains how to create a new pricing rule using the AI-powered Build with AI feature, review the generated rule, make edits if needed, and save the rule for use. It is designed to help team members quickly build simple or complex price rules using either typed or spoken instructions.
Key Steps
1. Navigate to the Price Rule Creation Area 0:13
Go to Price Tags and Pricing in Paper Price Tags.
Select Bulk Pricing Changes to begin creating a new pricing rule.
Click Create at the top of the screen.
Choose Build with AI to have the system generate the rule for you.
2. Enter the Pricing Requirement Using Text or Voice 0:33
Enter your pricing requirement in plain language by typing it into the prompt field.
Or click the microphone icon to speak the requirement directly to the system.
Example instruction:
Use MSRP. Unless there's a lower competitor price, then use the lower competitor price.
Press Enter to submit the request.
3. Review the AI-Generated Price Rule 0:51
Wait for the AI to generate the pricing rule.
Review the rule logic to confirm it matches your intent.
Check the generated details, including:
Rule name
Rule description
Rule conditions at the bottom of the form
Confirm the system is targeting the correct pricing column, which defaults to the sale price column.
4. Adjust Rule Details Before Saving 1:16
Review the generated rule for accuracy.
Use the available edit buttons to modify any part of the rule.
Use the delete option to remove any unwanted rule component.
If needed, set a schedule or date range for a promotion.
Make sure the final rule reflects the intended pricing behavior before applying it.
5. Revise the Rule with AI if Changes Are Needed 1:41
If the rule needs changes, use the AI again to revise it.
Click the microphone and speak a revision request in plain language.
Example revision:
Remove the part about lowest competitor price.
Press Enter to update the rule.
Confirm the AI has updated the logic and description correctly.
6. Save and Apply the Final Rule 2:05
After reviewing and confirming the final version, click Save and Apply.
Verify the rule is active and ready to use.
Keep in mind that AI can be used for both simple and complex pricing rules, reducing manual setup time.
Cautionary Notes
Always review the AI-generated rule before saving. Ensure the logic, description, and pricing column are correct.
Confirm competitor-based logic carefully. Small wording changes can significantly alter the rule outcome.
Check scheduling settings before applying promotions so the rule runs only during the intended date range.
Do not assume the default column is correct. Verify whether the rule should target sale price or another column.
Use delete/edit controls cautiously to avoid removing required conditions.
Tips for Efficiency
Use plain language to describe the pricing rule instead of building it manually.
Use the microphone for faster input when the rule is easier to say than type.
Start with a simple rule, then refine it with AI revisions if needed.
Keep instructions specific, such as naming the pricing source and fallback logic.
Review the generated description to quickly confirm whether the rule matches your intent.
Use AI for complex rules to reduce manual configuration time.
