How to Import Price Sheets into HomeSource

In this video, we guide you through the process of uploading pricing data into our system. We explain how to match columns from your uploaded spreadsheet to the corresponding fields in our system, emphasizing the importance of correctly aligning model numbers, descriptions, costs, and sale prices. Pay attention to the specific instructions on matching UMRP and MAP pricing to the sale price column for accurate pricing display. No action is requested from viewers in this video.

SOP: Importing Pricing into the System

Purpose

This procedure outlines the steps for importing manufacturer pricing into the system, including creating price sheets, mapping columns, uploading pricing, and configuring visibility of imported pricing.

Prerequisites

Before beginning, ensure you have:

  • A pricing spreadsheet from the manufacturer.

  • The correct product group identified (e.g., Appliances).

  • The manufacturer selected.

  • Pricing columns properly formatted in your spreadsheet.

  • An Effective Start Date column included in the spreadsheet.

Procedure

Step 1: Select the Product Group

  1. Navigate to the Pricing Import area.

  2. Select the appropriate Product Group.

    • Example: If importing appliance pricing, select Appliances.

Step 2: Select the Manufacturer

  1. Choose the manufacturer associated with the pricing file.

    • Example: Perlick, Bertazzoni, or another manufacturer.

Step 3: Select the Pricing File

  1. Browse to and select the pricing spreadsheet you want to upload.

  2. Check the Use for Pricing option.

Important:
If Use for Pricing is not selected, the system will only create new models and will not import pricing.

Step 4: Select or Create a Price Sheet

If a Price Sheet Already Exists

  1. Select the existing price sheet from the dropdown list.

If a Price Sheet Does Not Exist

  1. Click the + (Plus) button.

  2. Enter a name for the new price sheet.

    • Example: Bertazzoni Test 2024

  3. Select the product group.

  4. Select the manufacturer.

  5. Click Create.

  6. Search for and select the newly created price sheet.

Step 5: Upload the File

  1. Click Upload.

  2. The column mapping screen will appear.

Step 6: Map Model Information Columns

Match spreadsheet columns to system fields.

If your spreadsheet includes MSRP, map it to the MSRP field.

Step 7: Map Pricing Columns

The Pricing section controls how pricing is imported.

You may also map:

  • Salesperson Cost

  • MSRP

  • MAP Pricing

  • UMRP Pricing

  • Sale Price

Important: MAP and UMRP Pricing

If your spreadsheet contains:

  • MAP (Minimum Advertised Price)

  • UMRP (Unilateral Minimum Resale Price)

Map those values to:

Sale Price

This is important because the system's Exact Sale Price option can use the imported Sale Price as default home-source pricing.

You may also map MAP pricing to the MAP field if desired, but mapping to Sale Price is strongly recommended.

Step 8: Understanding Where Pricing Appears

Standard Pricing Fields

Pricing mapped to:

  • Cost

  • Sale Price

  • MSRP

will be visible when:

  1. Opening the model hyperlink.

  2. Navigating to the Levels tab.

These values do not appear directly in the RPS grid.

Display Pricing in the RPS Grid

To display pricing directly in the RPS grid:

  1. Map pricing values to one of the following fields:

    • Up 1

    • Up 2

    • Up 3

    • Up 4

    • Up 5

    • Up 6

    • Up 7

Example

If you want Cost displayed in the RPS grid:

  • Map Cost to Up 1.

The uploaded cost will then appear in the Up 1 column within the RPS grid.

Recommended Approach

Many dealers upload pricing twice:

Price Sheet #1

  • Cost → Cost field

Price Sheet #2

  • Cost → Up 1 field

This provides:

  • Effective pricing in the model record.

  • Cost visibility directly within the RPS grid.

Step 9: Map Effective Dates

Effective Start Date

Your spreadsheet should contain an Effective Start Date column.

Map:

Effective Date

Example

If the spreadsheet contains:

  • Effective Date = July 14

Map that column to the Effective Date field.

Effective End Date (Optional)

If your spreadsheet includes an Effective End Date column:

  1. Add the column to the spreadsheet.

  2. Map it to Effective End Date during upload.

Step 10: Complete the Upload

  1. Review all column mappings.

  2. Click Upload.

The system will import pricing for all matching models.

Post-Upload Notes

Up 1–Up 7 Processing Time

Pricing uploaded into:

  • Up 1

  • Up 2

  • Up 3

  • Up 4

  • Up 5

  • Up 6

  • Up 7

does not appear immediately.

Expected Processing Time: Overnight

The values will populate in the RPS grid after nightly processing.

Managing User Access to Up 1–Up 7 Columns

To allow users to view Up 1–Up 7 columns:

  1. Navigate to:

    • Site Settings

    • Columns

  2. Locate the user type section:

    • Read-Only Users

    • Management Users

    • Admin Users

  3. Enable the desired Up columns:

    • Up 1

    • Up 2

    • Up 3

    • Up 4

    • Up 5

    • Up 6

    • Up 7

  4. Select:

    • Sync to Read-Only Users on Save (if applicable)

  5. Click Save.

Users assigned to the selected user type will then have access to view those columns.
