Using the Return Option in the PocketScan App rev 022725
Objective
To provide a clear and concise procedure for team members to effectively return products from delivery trucks back into the warehouse inventory using the PocketScan app. This SOP aims to minimize misunderstandings and errors while maximizing productivity and accuracy in task execution.
Key Steps
Understand the Return Feature:
Note that using the return feature on PocketScan does not create a return invoice or any other documentation. It is solely for returning products that did not leave the truck.
Access PocketScan:
Open the PocketScan app on your device.
Initiate Return Process:
Click the Return button within the app.
Scan Product:
Use the scanner to scan the inventory ID label of the product you are returning.
Select Destination:
When prompted, choose the location to which the product will be returned (e.g., Sewell).
Click Done after selecting the location.
Designate Storage Area:
Decide where in the warehouse the product will be placed (e.g., damage area).
Click Submit to confirm the storage area.
Return to Stock Decision:
Indicate whether to return the product to stock or not.
If returning to stock, click the corresponding option.
Submit Return:
Click Submit again to finalize the return process.
Take Photographic Evidence:
When prompted, activate the camera to take a picture of the product.
Click to use the photo and confirm the submission.
Verify Return:
To ensure the return was processed correctly, check the inventory by entering the ID number in the serial number tab.
Open the product details to verify that the return is marked appropriately (e.g., in the damage area but marked open for sale).
Cautionary Notes
Ensure that the product is indeed on the truck and needs to be returned before initiating the process.
Double-check the inventory ID label to avoid scanning errors.
Be aware that marking a damaged product as "open for sale" should only be done if it is appropriate to do so.
Tips for Efficiency
Familiarize yourself with the PocketScan app interface to speed up the process.
Keep the scanner and camera ready for quick access during the return process.
Regularly review the inventory to ensure all returned products are accurately recorded and stored in the correct location.
Communicate with team members if there are any uncertainties regarding the return process or product condition.
By following these steps, team members can efficiently return products to the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and productivity in inventory management.
