In this video, We explain how to navigate the settings of the new Leads program to optimize its functionality for your store. We cover topics such as setting up statuses, creating custom columns, and determining important lead information. We also emphasize the importance of collecting necessary data for effective customer communication. No action is requested from viewers in this video.
The Leads settings section lets you configure two main things:
Statuses – The columns used to track and manage a lead's progress.
Required Fields – The information that must be collected before a lead can be created.
1. Navigate to Leads Settings
Go to Menu.
Select Point of Sale.
Click on Settings.
Navigate to the new Leads section.
This opens the settings area for the Leads program.
2. Set Up Lead Statuses
Statuses are the different columns you set up in the reporting section to help you manage and follow through on conversations with customers.
By default, when you first get Leads, three columns are automatically created:
Leads Created
Unqualified
Converted
Adding a New Status Column
You can add additional statuses beyond the default three:
Click the Leads Status + button.
Enter a title for the new status (for example, Active).
Optionally, set a predetermined score for this column.
Lead scoring assigns a quantitative number to a lead to help indicate whether it's a good, okay, or great lead.
For example, you might set a predetermined score of 70 (70%) for a given status.
Click Update to save the new column.
Once added, the new status will appear in your list of statuses and can be used when managing leads.
3. Configure Required Fields
You can decide what information is important enough to require when a lead is created. By default, you may choose to collect whatever data comes up naturally, or you can require certain fields to ensure consistency.
In this example, the following fields are marked as required:
Name (a first name is sufficient — a full name is not required)
Email
Why Require These Fields?
If you're creating a lead, you need the ability to contact the customer. Requiring fields like name and email helps ensure your sales team collects the right data up front — so that later, when it's time to follow up by phone or email, that contact information is already saved on the lead.
