Introducing Leads

In this video, we will be introducing LEADS, a new feature in the HomeSource system. LEADS is designed to help salespeople collect and manage customer information more efficiently. It allows for easy storage and retrieval of customer data, enabling better follow-up and communication. LEADS also helps qualify the quality of leads and facilitates the conversion of leads into quotes or sales. Watch this video to learn more about the importance of LEADS and how it can improve your sales process.

What Is a Lead?

Every store and sales floor has its own way of collecting customer information during a conversation. Often, that information ends up:

  • Written on a piece of paper

  • Jotted in a notebook

  • Simply kept in memory

The purpose of the Leads feature is to give you a consistent place to store this information — either by entering it directly into the system while you're speaking with the customer, or by writing it down first and transferring it into the system afterward.

Why Leads Matters

1. Centralizing Customer Information

In many showrooms, the information a salesperson collects stays with that salesperson. If the customer returns later to revisit their choices, the team has to search around to reconstruct what the customer was originally looking at.

Leads solves this by organizing customer information so that:

  • The store manager, or

  • Any other salesperson

...can pull up the customer's information at any time and pick up the sale where it left off — even if the original salesperson isn't available.

2. Managing the Customer Relationship

Sometimes a customer comes in, is still deciding, and isn't ready to buy yet. Leads lets you:

  • Collect that customer's data

  • Follow up with them over time

This works like a basic CRM (Customer Relationship Management) program, helping you stay in contact with the customer until they're ready to move forward.

3. Qualifying the Lead

Leads also gives you the ability to assess the quality of a lead — determining whether it's a good lead or a bad lead, and understanding why. This helps you prioritize your follow-up efforts.

4. Converting to a Quote or Sale

Once you've collected enough information, Leads allows you to convert all of that data directly into a quote or a sale within the HomeSource system — without having to retype or try to remember what was discussed.

Summary: Why Leads Is Important

Leads is important for three main reasons:

  1. Engagement – It helps you engage the customer and collect data during the conversation.

  2. Communication – It helps you manage that data and continue communicating with the customer over time.

  3. Conversion – It allows you to take all of that collected data and convert it directly into a quote or a sale, with no need to retype or recall details manually.
