The Main Salesperson assigned to a customer is now easier to identify throughout the system. Users can view the assigned salesperson in the Find Customer grid, Customer Inquiry, and customer selection when adding a customer to an order. The Main Salesperson can also be assigned or updated through the customer’s information using the available dropdown.
SOP: Identifying and Maintaining the Main Salesperson on Customer Records
Objective

2. Review the Main Salesperson in Customer Inquiry 0:25
Open Customer Inquiry.
Locate the Main Salesperson column in the customer list.
Use this view to quickly identify which salesperson is responsible for each customer.
Refer to this screen when you need to verify customer ownership without opening the full customer record.
3. Assign or Update the Main Salesperson on Customer Information 0:36
Open the customer record for the customer you want to update.
Choose Edit on the customer information screen.
Find the Main Salesperson drop-down field.
Select the correct salesperson from the list.
Save the customer record to ensure the assignment is retained.
4. Use the Main Salesperson Field to Improve Workflow 0:45
Treat the Main Salesperson field as the primary reference for customer ownership.
Use it when creating new customers or editing existing ones.
Confirm the field is populated correctly so team members can quickly determine who is responsible for the sale.
Rely on this field to reduce time spent searching through customer details.
Cautionary Notes
Ensure the Main Salesperson field is accurate before saving customer changes.
If the wrong salesperson is assigned, customer routing and ownership may be unclear.
Do not assume the salesperson is correct without checking the customer record or inquiry screen.
Make sure users have permission to edit customer information before attempting updates.
Tips for Efficiency
Check the Main Salesperson column first when selecting a customer for an order.
Use Customer Inquiry for quick verification instead of opening each customer record.
Keep customer records updated as soon as ownership changes.
Standardize how your team assigns the main salesperson to reduce confusion and save time.
