You can now bypass items at the parent row level in the Shortage Report, enabling bulk actions instead of updating each item individually. This streamlines high-volume workflows, reduces repetitive manual updates, and helps you manage shortages more efficiently and consistently across grouped items.
SOP: Bypass or Un-Bypass Shortages from the Parent Row in the Shortage Report
Objective
This SOP explains how to locate a shortage in the Shortage Report, bypass shortages at the parent-row level, and reverse the bypass if needed. It is designed to help team members process deliveries faster and handle multiple shortage items consistently.
Key Steps
1. Open the Shortage Report in Scheduler 0:25
Navigate to Scheduler.
Select Shortage Report.
Identify the parent row, which represents the main delivery group.
2. Expand the Parent Row to Review Included Items 0:37
Click the black triangle next to the parent row.
Review the items listed underneath the parent row.
Confirm these are the delivery items affected by the shortage.
3. Bypass Shortages from the Parent Row 0:47
Locate the bypass icon (clock icon) on the parent row.
Click the parent-row bypass icon to apply bypassing to the entire group.
Enter a bypass reason when prompted (for example, floor stock).
Click OK to confirm.
4. Verify the Bypass Was Applied 1:36
Check that the order now shows as bypassed.
Confirm the bypass icon appears on the right side of the row.
Verify the parent row turns green, indicating the group is bypassed and ready to ship.
5. Remove the Bypass if the Order Must Return to Shortage Status 1:45
If the bypass was applied in error or needs to be reversed, click the bypass icon on the parent row again.
Confirm the prompt asking whether you want to remove the bypass from all items in the group.
Select Yes, I’m sure to un-bypass the group.
6. Refresh and Confirm the Order Returns to Its Original State 1:57
Click Not Ready.
Select Get Shortage Report.
Confirm the order returns to its original shortage state.
Cautionary Notes
Bypassing a parent row affects every item in that group. Confirm the entire delivery should be bypassed before proceeding.
Always enter the correct bypass reason so the action is documented properly.
Un-bypassing reverses the action for all items in the group, not just one item.
Use caution when bypassing because bypassed items are treated as ready to ship.
Tips for Efficiency
Use the parent-row bypass instead of bypassing items one at a time to save time.
Expand the parent row first to quickly verify which items are included before applying the bypass.
Use this method for large shortage groups to reduce repetitive work and keep processing consistent.
If you need to review status after changes, refresh the shortage report to confirm the latest state.
