Understanding Physical Inventory Statuses

Updated over 3 weeks ago

The following video discusses managing the different statuses that may arise while conducting a physical inventory scan.

Inventory Status Management

Key Steps

  1. Yellow Pending Status: Indicates that the item is yet to be scanned. Wait until the item is scanned before proceeding.

  2. Good Scan: When the item is scanned in the correct location as indicated by the system. The rose icon will glow green, signifying a good scan.

  3. Bad Scan: Occurs when the system identifies an issue with the scanned item. This could be due to the item being in the wrong location or an unrecognized number. Handle bad scans by marking them as such or auto-transferring them to the correct location.

  4. Corrected Scan: If a bad scan is actually correct upon physical verification, it needs to be corrected in the system. This involves confirming the physical location of the item and updating the system accordingly.

  5. Monitor the grid to track the statuses of scanned items - green for good scans, yellow for pending scans, red for bad scans, and blue for corrected scans.

Cautionary Notes

  • Ensure accuracy in scanning items to avoid bad scans and the need for corrections.

  • Take the time to verify physical locations before marking a scan as corrected.

Tips for Efficiency

  • Regularly check the status grid to stay organized and track progress during the physical inventory process.

  • Address bad scans promptly to maintain accuracy and efficiency in inventory management.
